A random guy at the Raleigh anime meetup last Saturday changed how I watch openings forever
I go to this small anime meetup at a comic shop in Raleigh every other Saturday, usually like 10 or 15 people show up. Last weekend this older dude named Marcus sat next to me during a break and asked what I thought of the new Fall shows. I said I skip openings after the first time to save time, and he just laughed and told me to rewatch the first 90 seconds of Frieren's opening after the season ends, because the studio hides the whole story in there. I did it that night and he was right, the lyrics line up with episode 28 in a way I totally missed. Now I actually sit through openings once a week to look for stuff like that. Does anyone else rewatch OPs after finishing a show, or am I late to this?

Studios sneak foreshadowing into background art during OPs too, not just lyrics.
