Spotted a new recycling bin program for downtown shops

Walking around last week, I noticed several stores joined a city led recycling effort. One side argues it builds good community image and might attract customers, while the other points out the extra work and space it takes up. Do you think small businesses in our area should get on board with things like this?

Know it feels like another burden, but makes sense long term.

I read the city's report on last year's pilot program. It said the bins cost about $80 each and the pickup fee is monthly. That's real money for a small shop. But the same report showed over 60% of people polled said they'd choose a business that recycles over one that doesn't. It seems like a hassle now, but not doing it might cost more later if you look bad next to a green competitor. They should just get it over with and join.
