PSA: I hit 200 Google reviews for my shop on 6th and it's not what I expected
I run a little shoe repair spot off 6th Ave and last month I finally crossed 200 Google reviews. I got kinda excited until I actually read through them and realized about 40 of them are from folks who just dropped off a return next door. What surprised me more is that my walk-in traffic jumped 18% in the two months after hitting that number, even the fake-ish reviews counted. I mean I always figured reviews mattered but I didn't think it was that direct. Anyone else notice a real jump after a certain review count, or is it just me?
Don't you think that 18% jump might just be from something else going on around 6th at the same time, like a new spot opening nearby or a street fair? Two months of data is pretty thin to pin it all on some reviews that half the people didn't even mean to leave.
