Pro tip: Get face time at Amarillo events, our quiet month taught us
Honestly, our Amarillo cafe ignored nearby street fairs for too long. We put all our money into fancy online ads instead. Tbh, customer numbers fell flat by the second month. The simple fix was booking a table at the Amarillo Farmers Market every Saturday. Ngl, handing out free samples and talking to folks built a real local following. Now we plan our whole year around town festivals and markets. It turned a bad slump into steady foot traffic.

You spent all your cash on online ads when there were street fairs right there? That seems wild because local events are packed with potential customers. Handing out free samples and chatting people up is a sure way to build trust. Online ads can fade fast, but meeting folks in person makes them remember you. It's surprising it took a slump to try the obvious fix.

My first summer, I spent over two thousand on Instagram ads. Turns out my target audience was too busy enjoying live music and fried dough at the town festival to scroll. Chatting face-to-face at those events did more for my brand than any click-through rate ever could. I guess I needed the slump to knock some sense into me about where real connections happen.

Seriously, I read an article about how local events actually build way more loyalty than digital ads.
