A vendor at the farmers market talked me out of a bigger POS system
She showed me her paper ledger and said my $40 a month software was plenty, and watching her ring up 200 orders on slips of paper made me cancel the upgrade the next morning, so has anyone else found that talking to someone who does it the old way fixes your spending itch?

Funny how the real cost of software isn't the monthly fee, it's the time you spend babysitting it, and that vendor's ledger probably saves her more hours than your system saves you. I'd say the itch to upgrade is usually less about needing features and more about wanting to feel like you're keeping up with everyone else.
