Vent: my buddy's offhand comment about my weekend plans sent me into a 2 day spiral
My friend Marcus asked what I was doing Saturday and I mentioned I might paint the hallway, and he goes 'oh, that's a whole weekend job you're underestimating.' I spent the next two days googling paint dry times and reading forum threads about cutting in edges, convinced I'd mess up a $40 gallon of paint. Then I finally just did it Sunday afternoon in about 3 hours and it looks fine. How do you all catch yourselves when one random comment turns into a full research project?

Question whether Marcus actually knows anything about painting, or if he just says stuff to hear himself talk. Sounds like you gave his random opinion way more weight than it deserved.
