Serious question, I just read that 40% of people think about a past mistake at least once a day.

I found this stat in a psychology article online two days ago. It made me stop and count how many times I replayed my own dumb moments. I probably thought about that awkward thing I said at work four times today alone. Is that number way too high, or is it just me?

Actually read something about this, maybe it's just me but they said it's called the brain's negativity bias. Our minds stick to bad memories way more than good ones, like Velcro for mistakes. Makes that 40% seem kinda low, idk.

Forty percent seems way too low, maybe it's just me but that number is shocking. I would have guessed most people replay their mistakes constantly. I know I fixate on old regrets way more than once a day, it's like a broken record. The article must have asked the question wrong or something.
