Overheard my neighbor say 'the squirrels are watching' and now I can't look at my backyard the same
He was dead serious, pointed at a tree and everything, and I spent the next hour googling if squirrels have regional memory or whatever. Has anyone else had a random comment just stick in your head like that?

Oh man, I actually just read something about how squirrels have super organized food storage systems in their brains. They can remember where they hid thousands of nuts. So maybe your neighbor was onto something creepy.

@olivia_hernandez gets it! My squirrel food memory is so bad I forgot I put snacks in my pocket and found them in the wash, so if they're watching me, they're probably just judging how I handle snacks.
