I spent a week convinced my boss was about to fire me over a single email
I sent a project update last Monday and my boss just replied 'Got it.' I spent the next five days analyzing his tone, checking if he was avoiding me, and even re-reading old emails to compare. I finally asked him about it Friday, and he said he was just busy and meant nothing by it. Has anyone else spiraled over a two-word reply?

Oh man, I've totally been there. What helped me was setting a rule to wait 24 hours before freaking out over a short email. Most of the time, it really is just them being busy or distracted. I still have to remind myself not to read into things that probably mean nothing.

My buddy got a one word email from his boss and panicked. Turned out the guy was just typing on his phone at the airport.
