Can we talk about how a 5 minute chat with a plumber changed how I think about my own work?

I was getting a quote for a kitchen sink install in Denver last Tuesday, and this old plumber named Joe just starts talking about how he stopped taking rush jobs 10 years ago. He said 'the money is in the small stuff nobody wants to do right, not the big flashy jobs.' It hit different because I've been killing myself chasing big projects and burning out. Now I'm sitting here wondering if I should pivot to doing fewer but better jobs too. Has anyone else had a random pro drop a truth bomb like that that made you rethink your whole approach?

Flip it around and realize Joe's advice works even better for plumbers than for creatives.
