Took me 6 weekends to fix a simple irrigation valve in the North Valley

Kept having a wet patch near the gate. Thought it was a leaky hose bib. Turned out the old brass valve was half clogged with sediment and the solenoid was dying. Had to dig it out, cut the line, replace the whole thing. Took way longer because my shovel hit a buried rock the size of a basketball. Anyone else fight with old irrigation lines that just refuse to cooperate?

Doubt it was worth all that digging, honestly. Six weekends for a valve that probably just needed a good cleaning and a new solenoid. Should've been a Saturday morning job, tops.
