Overheard a guy at the supply shop say panel placement matters way more than wire routing

He was ranting about a job where they put the panel behind a door swing and now the customer can't arm it without squeezing in. Made me rethink how I scope out spots before drilling.

The last house I toured had the keypad tucked behind the front door, so you had to shut the door first and then reach around like a contortionist just to punch in the code. @angela_carter nailed it, that's basically a daily obstacle course. I've also seen one mounted way too high, like someone thought a six foot homeowner was the minimum. People design these things without ever actually using them, I swear.
