I finally questioned if we should tell clients about alarm data tracking
Last week, I installed a smart alarm that records home activity. My boss told me not to bring up the data part to keep customers happy, but it feels like hiding something. Should we always let people know what their alarm system is tracking?

My buddy found out his security cam was saving voice clips without telling him. He only knew because the app had a weird folder listed. Total trust gone with that company, and he left a brutal review online. They tried to say it was for "service improvement" but it just felt sneaky. Hiding stuff usually blows up worse than just being upfront from the start.

Ugh, your boss is giving you terrible advice. I had a client find out about hidden tracking and it blew up into a huge legal headache over privacy laws. Always put it in the service agreement in plain language, because getting caught hiding it will destroy your reputation way faster than a customer maybe asking a question. That brief moment of awkward honesty saves you from a nightmare later.
