That time a torque wrench calibration sticker lied to me in Phoenix

I was chasing a landing gear bolt that kept backing out, and after three flights the operator said "it's still loose." Turned out the calibration sticker said 90 days out, but the wrench was way off because some rookie dropped it on the hangar floor. Has anyone else had a similar scare with a tool that passed visual inspection then failed hard?
