Just dropped $200 on a new torque wrench that started clicking inconsistently after a week.

The calibration is already off by 15 foot-pounds, which I found out during a gear retraction test. What's a brand you actually trust for precision tools that last?

Wait, it was off by fifteen foot-pounds? That's a huge margin for something that new. I've had good luck with my Proto tools holding up over time.

Man, that's wild. My buddy bought a brand new torque wrench for his truck's lug nuts last year, and it was off by almost twenty foot-pounds right out of the box. He only found out after he warped a rotor. @uma_baker88, you're right, that's a huge margin and it's scary for new stuff. He switched to an old Proto he borrowed from his dad and it was spot on. Makes you want to test everything twice now.
