Debate: is preheating the air fryer actually worth it or just hype?
Let me know your experience, have you done a proper comparison or do you just chuck food in cold?

Has anyone else noticed that preheating really only helps for the first batch, or am I just being impatient? I tried it both ways with frozen fries and honestly the texture difference was so small I couldn't tell which was which. It might make sense if you're doing something delicate like a single chicken breast, but for most stuff I just hit start and walk away.

Preheating makes sense for things like breaded fish or anything with a wet batter where you want an instant crust. Frozen fries are mostly starch and already partially cooked, so the oil in the air fryer hits them the same either way. Save those few minutes and just toss them in.
