Tried to automate my invoicing with AI and it took 4 hours longer than doing it manually
I run a small tree service and got tired of typing out invoices after every job. So I spent last Saturday setting up an AI tool to pull data from my phone notes and generate invoices automatically. It took me like 6 hours to configure the thing, debug the format issues, and then manually fix half the entries anyway. After all that, I could have just typed out 20 invoices in under 2 hours. Has anyone else found a decent invoicing AI that actually saves time instead of making more work?

pure profit by week 3" - you really think that math holds up if you've got 10 different clients with slightly different rate structures and you're still tweaking the prompts every time?

Man you gotta stick with it longer. I setup an invoicing system for my landscaping side gig and the first weekend was a total disaster like you described. But after I tweaked the template and figured out the right prompts it now cranks out perfect invoices in like 2 minutes flat while I load equipment. The time suck upfront is real but if you do more than 5 invoices a week it pays off fast. A 4 hour setup for something that saves you 10 minutes per job every single week is pure profit by week 3.
