My first AI art tool finally hit 500 downloads today and I'm still in shock

Honestly, I started this little side project in my basement last February just to learn how neural networks work. It's a super basic image generator that turns simple sketches into more finished pieces. I put it up on a free site and forgot about it, then checked the stats last night and saw 512 total downloads. That number blew my mind because I didn't even tell anyone about it besides my brother. He said, 'Told you people want tools that don't need a manual the size of a dictionary.' It matters to me because it proves my weird hobby actually helps other folks make something cool. Has anyone else had a project take off quietly like that?

Not sure 500 downloads really means people are actually using it though. I've grabbed tons of free tools that just sat on my hard drive forever.

Agreed, that's a fair point and I used to feel the same way honestly. But then I checked the analytics on my own project and saw most people actually stuck around past the first week. So yeah, you're right to be skeptical, but sometimes those numbers do mean something.
