Had to pick between two AI writing tools for my blog last month

I was stuck between Jasper and Claude for writing product descriptions for my small online store in Portland. Went with Claude because it handled longer posts better without repeating itself. So far it's saved me about 8 hours a week but sometimes the tone comes off too formal. Anyone else find they have to tweak the output a lot for their own voice?

My buddy runs a craft brewery in Bend and he tried using Jasper for his label copy last fall. He said it kept using the word "artisanal" in every single description and his customers started roasting him for it on Instagram. I messed around with Claude for a few product pages on my own site and noticed the same formal tone problem you mentioned. What helped me was copy-pasting a few of my old blog posts into the custom instructions box so it could see my actual writing style. It still needs some fixes but way less than before. Also found that telling it to write like a friend explaining something over coffee works better than any prompt template I've tried.

Can't you just feed it your own writing samples to fix the tone?
