Question about cooking solo in hostels with limited utensils

What are your best one-pan recipes for such situations?

In Southeast Asia hostels, I relied on a one-pan egg fried rice. You just need rice, an egg, and whatever leftovers are in the fridge. It's filling, cheap, and minimizes dishes.
