Appreciation post: How smart doorbells reshaped the watchfulness on my avenue

After a rash of porch pirates, several homes upgraded to video doorbells. Now, we all get alerts and can watch out for each other, which has fostered a REAL sense of collective care.

My friend's doorbell alert warned the whole neighborhood last Tuesday.

That "collective care" is real lol. My friend's neighbor got an alert about a sketchy car and texted the whole block group chat before anything even happened.
