Seeing how group projects bring out different personalities in my class...

We had a team assignment last week and I watched some people take charge while others just followed along. One view is that this shows natural leadership traits, but another says it's all about social confidence learned over time. It got me thinking about whether we're born with these roles or if we pick them up... curious what others here think about it.

Wait, aren't we reading too much into this?

Group projects are like a live audition for who forgot to be shy. The natural 'leaders' are usually just the ones who started talking first. Pretty sure we all learn these roles from watching too much TV.

Watched my friend Liam get stuck as the "project manager" last semester because he was the first one to sigh when no one else talked. This quiet guy ended herding three people who just copied lines from Wikipedia. He didn't want to lead, he just wanted a decent grade. The loudest person in that group actually did the least work but got the same credit. It totally felt like a bad episode of a sitcom where everyone plays a role they didn't pick.
