Can we talk about the patience needed for unsolved archaeological digs?
I've been following the search for a lost colonial fort near my area for over a decade. Every few years, they find another piece of pottery and call it progress.

Following a dig for over a decade, I get it. What helped me was seeing each pottery find as a step forward, no matter how small.

Totally the right mindset. Otherwise you'd go nuts waiting for the big tomb reveal that might never come. It's all about those little wins keeping the whole thing from feeling pointless. We're not exactly wired for that much delayed gratification.
