So my local diner thinks our foundry smells like barbecue
I was getting breakfast this morning and the cook asked if we had a giant grill going. I said no, that's just the metal and coal from our shop. Anyone else have neighbors who think you're cooking instead of casting?

Oh man, that's perfect. The burning sand binder smell from our place gets that all the time. People walking by will literally stop and say it smells like someone is burning leaves or roasting nuts. Had a neighbor once ask if we were making some kind of weird coffee in the industrial park. It's always the casting smells that people mistake for food.

Yeah, it's always the casting smells. Folks think we're running a bakery next door.

Honestly, I used to think it was just a weird smell. Then I walked by a foundry right as someone was grilling lunch down the street. The mix was uncanny and it totally changed my mind. I get the confusion now.
