Showerthought: Non-GMO labels on orange juice boxes always bug me
Honestly, slapping a non-GMO sticker on something like orange juice that has no GMO version feels like a scam to hike up the price.

The USDA says there are no GMO oranges approved for commercial sale. So what exactly is that label protecting us from, and who decided shoppers needed "protection" from a thing that doesn't exist? It seems like the only real purpose is to justify charging more for the same product.

Honestly, how many products do this now? It feels like half the grocery store has labels shouting about what isn't in the food. No GMO on things that were never GMO, gluten-free on meat, all that. Tbh it just preys on people being worried without giving them real facts. The label isn't about safety, it's about making you feel like you're buying something special so they can add a few bucks. It turns shopping into a minefield of fake problems instead of just selling real food.
