The client who used a hair dryer on my fresh floor glue
Last week, I was installing some sheet vinyl and stepped out for a minute. When I came back, the homeowner was blowing a hair dryer over the glue to 'help it dry faster'. The heat made it bubble up in weird spots, and I had to redo a whole section. I tried to explain that adhesives need time to cure properly. Have you ever had a client try to 'fix' your work with household items?

I saw a story online about a painter who found a client using a space heater to dry paint, and it all cracked. From what I've heard, folks often use stuff like hairdryers or fans, not knowing it can ruin the setup time. Another case was someone using a vacuum on wet stain, which just smeared it everywhere. It's a common issue because people want to help, but glues and paints need the right conditions to set. Best to wait it out or check with the person doing the job first.

Actually, a little airflow helps sometimes.

Ever think speeding things up helps? I used to believe that until I saw a rushed glue job fail completely. Now I just let things dry on their own time.
