Warning: I hit 50 custom designs in a single month and nearly lost my mind
I was trying to build up my portfolio for a local boutique in Austin and ended up churning out 50 dress patterns in 30 days. The problem was I stopped sleeping properly around week 3 and my stitching got sloppy on the last 10 pieces. Has anyone else hit a crazy output number like that and regretted pushing too hard?

Thing is, that speed might actually hurt your portfolio more than help it because boutiques can usually spot rushed work from a mile away. Your last 10 sloppy pieces could drag down the whole impression of what you're capable of. Sometimes fewer solid pieces show off your skill way better than a big stack of stuff that's hit or miss.

Pared my book down to just my top 8 pieces and got way more interviews after that. Quality over quantity every time, helps them actually remember what you can do instead of sifting through the noise.
