That automatic soap dispenser at the coffee shop ran out and nobody refilled it
Last Tuesday I stood there waving my hand like an idiot for 10 seconds before realizing the thing was dead... then had to use the hand sanitizer from my bag instead. Anyone else run into phantom dispensers that make you feel like a fool?

Happened to me at the gym last week. Just stood there feeling dumb for way too long.

Yeah @finley_wells66 that "stood there feeling dumb" part hits too close to home. But honestly I think you might be overthinking it a little. Most people are so wrapped up in their own stuff they don't even notice when someone zones out for a sec. I've done the same thing at the grocery store staring at the butter like it's gonna tell me what to cook for dinner. It's just one of those brain hiccups we all get.
