Reflow vs. new board on a 12 year old TV, I gambled cheap
Had a 2012 Samsung plasma with lines through the picture, the quote for a new main board was $180 so I tried a $25 reflow oven pass on the old one first. It bought me about 3 weeks before the lines came back worse, then I had to order the board anyway. Have any of you actually gotten a lasting fix from reflowing a BGA chip on a panel, or am I just wasting my time next round?
