Switching from a cable rig to a spud barge on soft mud cut our cycle time in half
We were running a 6 inch cable dredge on a job near Morgan City last month and fighting 4 feet of soft mud the whole time, losing maybe 3 hours a shift just repositioning. Brought in a small spud barge setup with a swinging ladder and we went from 900 yards a day to almost 2,000 with the same crew. Anybody else made that jump, and did you run into trouble holding position once the mud got deeper than your spuds?
