Saw this on the Mississippi near Baton Rouge, the silt settled weird after the last storm
I was running a small job off the Mississippi near Baton Rouge last week and the current was fine but the silt had settled into these hard ridges almost like frozen waves. We had to cut through a few of them just to get the dredge head seated right. My guess is the last storm dumped enough sediment that it compacted uneven before we got there. Has anyone else seen this pattern after a big rain event and did you just plow through or adjust your anchor setup?

Ran into that exact same mess up in the Yazoo backwater a couple years back. Ended up just slowing the winch way down and letting the dredge head kinda rock through the ridges instead of forcing it, took longer but saved us from having to reset anchors every few feet.
