Just realized a bent coat hanger can fix a clogged suction line in a pinch.

The main line on our cutterhead dredge in Mobile Bay got jammed with a piece of tarp last week, and we were stuck waiting for parts. Straightened out a heavy wire hanger, fed it down the inspection port, and popped it loose in about ten minutes. Anyone got a better trick for clearing soft blockages fast?

Honestly, that's the whole vibe of fixing stuff. The official solution is always some overpriced, backordered part, but the actual fix is usually a random piece of junk you already have. Your coat hanger trick is a perfect example. It feels like half of maintenance work is just creative problem solving with whatever's lying around.

Wait, a coat hanger actually worked? That's wild, @the_tara.

A coat hanger? You actually fixed something with a coat hanger?
