Tried pulling fence staples with a crowbar for a year before someone handed me a $40 fence pliers

Last week my foreman watched me fight a cedar post for 10 minutes with a wrecking bar and finally tossed me his fence pliers, and I had the whole run pulled in half the time, so has anyone else wasted a season on the wrong tool before somebody else pointed it out?
