Ngl, I just blew $90 on a 'professional' lens cleaning kit that scratched my camera glass

Honestly, I saw this kit online with all the brushes and fluid and thought it was a smart buy. Tbh, I used it on my main 50mm lens last weekend and now there's a fine circular scratch right in the middle. It's totally my fault for not checking reviews first. Has anyone else had a lens cleaning disaster and found a method that actually works safely?

Oh man, that's brutal. I had a similar "pro" kit leave weird smears that looked worse than the dust. Now I just use the microfiber cloth from my glasses and a tiny bit of my own breath. Works better than the fancy stuff.

Ugh, that's the worst feeling! Did the kit have a little brush that felt kind of gritty?

My old photography teacher always said the only thing that should touch the lens is a brand new microfiber cloth and proper lens cleaning fluid. I've followed that for ten years without a single scratch. Those kits often bundle cheap, abrasive tools that cause more harm than good.
