Can we talk about the weird echo in the new library downtown?

I was trying to read in the main reading room last Tuesday and every little sound, like a page turn or a cough, bounced around for a full two seconds. It made it really hard to focus, and I ended up leaving after about 20 minutes. Does anyone else find that space way too loud because of the acoustics?

Seriously, my friend tried to study there last week and had the same issue. She said a guy sneezed and it sounded like a cartoon sound effect repeating. She packed up and went to the coffee shop instead.

Oh come on, it can't be that bad. Maybe you were just having a sensitive day. Libraries are supposed to be quiet anyway.
