I mean, maybe it's just me but trying to build a compost bin right next to the kitchen door messed up my indoor air quality for weeks.

Compost bins right by the kitchen door let out gases that airing out the house doesn't fix. Anna792, that farm smell your friend had could come from wet grass or food scraps. People forget that where you put the bin changes how bugs and mold get inside. My neighbor's compost brought flies that found their way into my air vents once. The indoor air feels thick not only from the smell but from dampness and dust too. How do you balance your compost to stop the bad odors?
