Tile leveling clips versus wedges, my bathroom floor made me pick a side

I was doing a 200 sq ft bathroom floor in Columbus and kept fighting lippage with the cheap wedge system. On the second row I switched to the twist style clips with the gun and it went way smoother. The wedges kept popping out on me when I tapped tiles down, that was the dealbreaker. The twist ones cost maybe $40 more total but I finished the floor in a day instead of fighting it for two. Anyone else swear by one system and hate the other, or is it just me?

Did you try the old rubber mallet and prayer method before you gave up on the wedges? I swear those little plastic things have a personal vendetta against anyone who actually wants a flat floor. I used the twist clips on a tub surround last year and it felt like cheating, the wedges made me want to throw my trowel through a window. But hey, at least your floor is done, that is more than I can say for my last project, which is still sitting half finished with a leveling system holding it hostage.
