My kitchen backsplash grout turned pink after 4 months, still fighting it
Put white grout in my bathroom in Portland and by spring, pink streaks showed up right around the sink area, turns out it was bacteria feeding on leftover soap scum. I scrubbed with vinegar, bleach, and a dedicated grout brush but it keeps coming back, anyone found a sealer that actually stops this for good?

Ugh, that pink stuff is the worst. I had the same thing in my shower and it kept coming back no matter what I threw at it. What finally worked for me was drying the area completely after every use and then hitting it with a good sealer made for wet spots, the kind that soaks in instead of sitting on top. Vinegar and bleach kill what's there but they don't stop the soap scum from feeding it again.
