Coworking space in Lisbon charged me for a day I never booked

I landed in Lisbon last month and tried out a coworking spot near the Baixa district. Their website said walk-ins welcome, but the front desk lady insisted I had a prepaid reservation that I definitely never made. She wouldn't refund the 25 euros and kept pointing at some random name in their system. Has anyone else gotten hit with a mystery charge at a coworking place abroad, or am I just lucky?

My prepaid reservation" sounds exactly like what happened to my friend at a place in Barcelona. She got the same runaround, some random name in their system and a charge for a date she was actually flying home that day. The guy at the desk kept shrugging and saying the computer was right, so she just ate the 20 euros because arguing got her nowhere. She tried calling her bank when she got back, but since she had technically used the card at that spot before, they wouldn't flag it. Last I heard, she wrote a bad review and moved on, but it still bugs her whenever coworking comes up. So yeah, you're not alone, and it sounds like a pretty common scam or just a really sloppy booking system.
