Caught myself sending the same canned pitch to 200 leads, one reply made me delete the whole template
I run a small agency out of a spare room in Reno and for the past 8 months I was blasting the same 3 paragraph pitch to every lead that came through my site. Last Tuesday a guy named Derek replied with just one line: 'Did you even read my contact form?' I went back and looked, he runs a bike repair shop and had typed that he needed help with Google Business Profile photos, and I had sent him a generic wall of text about boosting social reach. I sat there feeling like a jerk and then did the math, out of 200 sends I had 4 replies all period. So I deleted the template and started writing each one by hand based on whatever they typed, and this week alone I booked 3 calls off just 11 messages. It takes maybe 20 minutes longer per batch but the reply rate is not even close. Anyone else ever get humbled by a two sentence reply from a stranger?
