I finally tried clipping a color layer over my lineart like a guy on YouTube told me, and it fixed 2 months of muddy shading
Some artist I follow on YouTube said to keep lineart on its own layer and clip a color layer right on top for shading instead of painting on the lineart itself. I did it that way for maybe 2 months and my shadows kept looking dusty and grey no matter what I did. Last Tuesday I finally moved the lines above the color fill on a portrait of my sister, and the whole thing looked 10 times cleaner in like 15 minutes. Wondering if anyone here keeps a separate line layer for every piece or just flattens at the end?
