Hit 10k downloads on my art pack last night, totally unexpected

I threw up a small texture pack on Itch.io as a side thing and it passed 10k downloads in 3 months. Anyone else have a random piece blow up way more than their main work?

Totally unexpected" huh? That's the universe's way of telling you to stop trying so hard, I guess. My "meh" little font project got more attention than my actual portfolio, go figure.

The universe isn't telling you to stop trying hard, that's a weird take. Putting in effort and getting lucky are two different things, and your font project getting attention just means random timing and market need lined up for it. 10k downloads on an art pack is still solid work, not a sign to give up on polished stuff. If anything, it proves you have a skill for making things people actually want to use, even if it wasn't your main focus. Oliver's comment sounds bitter tbh, like they're projecting their own frustration onto you. Keep making your main work and the side stuff, both can feed each other in ways you don't see yet.
