Color grading fallback files changed my whole process after a year of fighting it

I used to spend forever tweaking my digital paintings in Photoshop until they looked right, then export and hope the colors held up on my tablet and phone. Last Tuesday I finally tried working with a test file that had all my layers flattened and colors baked in, just to see what a client would actually receive. Turns out my screen calibration was way too bright, so everything I posted was coming out darker and duller for everyone else. I applied a simple adjustment layer to match the fallback version's look and it matched my original intent almost perfectly. Now I check every piece against that flat export before I call it done, and I've stopped redoing whole sections three times. Has anyone else dealt with screen color mismatch when sharing your art online, or do you use a specific profile or calibration tool that works for you?
