My lead tech in Bakersfield bet me $50 I couldn't pull a head without draining coolant first
Last month I was pulling the head off a 6.7 Cummins and my lead tech bet me 50 bucks I'd have coolant everywhere if I skipped draining the block. I laughed it off, pulled the head, and got a face full of antifreeze plus about a gallon on the floor of the bay. He just stood there grinning and handed me a mop. Took me an extra 40 minutes to clean it up and I had to redo the whole job order because of the mess. I paid him the 50 and bought the crew lunch on top of it. Now I always crack the block drain first, no matter how rushed the ticket is. Anybody got a dumb bet they lost that actually taught them a real lesson?
