Heard a guy at the parts counter say DEF is just a money grab

He was going on about how he just deletes the system on his trucks, saying it's all junk. I get the frustration with regen cycles, but ignoring the emissions stuff just pushes the problem down the road for everyone. How do you guys handle customers who think the whole SCR system is a scam?

Honestly, it's a tough one to argue. I just explain that the fines for getting caught without it are way worse than the cost of the fluid. Usually makes them think twice.

Ugh, tell me about it. I had a friend who skipped the washer fluid for months, said it was just a dumb upsell. Got pulled over in a rainstorm, couldn't see a thing, and the cop nailed him for it. The ticket was insane, like ten times what the bottle costs. He never skips it now. Sometimes the hard way is the only way people learn.
