Picked an immutable distro for prod, now I miss my cron jobs

I had to choose between sticking with our Debian servers or moving to an immutable OS like Fedora CoreOS for a new microservices rollout last month. The rollback safety won me over, but I didn't realize how much I depended on editing files directly under /etc for quick fixes. Anyone else hit this wall, or did you find a decent way to handle config changes without fighting the image model?
