Still stuck on which quick disconnect fitting to use for my air compressor hose
I spent like 45 minutes at the hardware store last weekend just staring at the brass vs steel quick disconnects for my garage setup in Cleveland. Ended up grabbing the brass ones because they were cheaper but now I'm worried they'll crack after a few months of use. Anyone have experience switching from one type to the other and regret it?

Man I feel your pain, I did the exact same thing at Home Depot in Akron two weeks ago. Bought the cheap brass ones for my Craftsman pancake compressor and one of them actually developed a tiny crack near the threads after maybe ten uses. I swapped them out for the Milton steel V-style fittings and they've been solid even with me accidentally dropping the hose on the concrete a few times.

My buddy in Parma bought the steel ones after his brass fitting split right where the hose connects, and he said it was like night and day with how tight they stay...
