Watched a guy at the Charlotte airport plug his phone into a free charging kiosk and lose $600
I was waiting on a delayed flight at gate B12 in Charlotte when a guy next to me plugged into one of those free USB charging stations. About 10 minutes later he started freaking out because his banking app showed a $600 charge he never made. Turns out those public USB ports can pass data, not just power, and something on that kiosk grabbed his info. I bought a $9 USB data blocker the next day and now it lives on my keychain. Does anyone know if those things actually block everything or just the obvious stuff?
