Dropped $180 on a hardware security key after my email got hit, and I'm still not sure it was worth it
Back in March someone got into my email and tried to reset a bunch of my other accounts. Nothing huge got stolen, but it scared me enough that I went and bought a hardware security key for around $180 including a backup one. Setup took maybe 20 minutes and now I have to physically plug it in every time I log in from a new device, which is a real pain when I'm out on a job site. The thing is, I can't tell if it actually did anything or if the password change alone would've been enough. I keep going back and forth on whether I wasted the money. Curious if anyone here has made the switch and felt like it was worth it, or if I'm just paying for peace of mind.
