Am I the only one who almost fell for the fake PayPal text about a $487 charge

Got a text last Tuesday saying there was a $487 charge on my PayPal and to click a link to cancel it, and the only thing that saved me was noticing the link said paypa1 with a number one. I called PayPal direct instead and they said that scam is going around my area hard right now. Curious if anyone else has seen these lately and how you spot them?
